When a sinister empire invades civilization, a group of kids must put aside their differences to become unlikely heroes in an intergalactic quest to find a hidden relic and restore justice across the universe.
OVERVIEW
Our story begins in the not-too-distant future, where the known universe sits under the rule of a single, authoritarian empire called the Lybrarians. Earth and its nearby systems have opted into an act called "Lyberation". To end decades of conflict, Earth would receive "peace through submission" and join the other systems already under Lybrarian control. The Lyberation was overwhelmingly approved by the war-weary masses, and in a swift moment, everyday life became directed by the empire. The year of the Lyberation became "YEAR 0", and an entirely new narrative began.
Those opposed to the Lyberation fought against the empire's quest for absolute control. Their mission: expose the reality of the empire's goal and gather the fragmented and long-forgotten, hidden relic known as the Page, an ancient text holding a powerful truth and life-giving promise in its words, an antidote to the ever-worsening brokenness of the world. [ The page had been forced out of the common knowledge by those seeking to bring about the empire's reign.]
The first generation of freedom fighters became known as Pagefinders, but only a brave few survived their short-lived movement in the face of the mighty Lybrarian empire.
After the Lyberation was enacted, the remaining few Pagefinders scattered into hiding, but they vowed to never lose hope that truth would eventually prevail.
Willow, the granddaughter of a first-wave Pagefinder, ignites a new spark of hope as she embarks on the journey of a lifetime with a ragtag crew of complicated, spirited characters. Her first mission: find her father who was taken prisoner by the Lybrarians after being caught smuggling "anti-Ly propaganda".
Willow and her soon-to-be lifelong friends, Max, a streetwise scavenging orphan and his pet robot S.C.R.A.P., Four, a genius scientist and famous video gaming champion, and Dodge, a conflicted Empirical Military Academy cadet wrestling with the morality of the Lybrarians, unknowingly embark on the journey of a lifetime when they cross paths with Aya Fortuna, one of the last living Pagefinders.
Aya's words: "Your discovery isn't a legend. It's a Page."

THE
STORY
What is truth, and who gets to define it? As followers of Jesus, we believe the Bible is the unaltered, absolute truth of God's Word.
Without a stable statement of truth, civilization falls apart.
The unfortunate reality of today is how accurate Lewis's statement from almost a half a century ago has proved to be; and the Pagefinders illustrates this through the Lybrarian's offering of "peace through submission" in an effort to remove the cornerstones of Christian values: the nuclear family, a life submitted to a higher authority, and good and evil being ascertainable. Additionally, the Pagefinders illustrates what a conceivable future without the foundation of truth will look like.
In an effort of nuance, we've created relatable, imperfect characters that can be taught, so as THEY learn, the viewer learns along with them. This method of teaching [ parallel learning ] has shown to yield more impactful results than simply stating "rules to follow". When a person faces a decision, they're most likely going to fall back on their base level worldview to inform their choice.
When an individual's worldview is formed in part by truth-based stories and characters, they'll be able to make an informed decision based on truth-centric outcomes.

ALONE
Willow is a strong, young woman destined for greatness, though she has difficulty trusting others.
Born to one of the last family units in the galaxy, Willow was trained, by her father, to fly and repair aircrafts of all kinds. She was violently taken from her father as a young girl and marooned on a work planet, Rust. To this day, she is unaware of the full breadth of her parents' allegiance to the secret society known as the Pagefinders.
Every choice Willow makes is fueled by one solitary desire: escape Rust, and find her father. Because she knows what it feels like to be loved, taught, and nurtured, she is convinced the galaxy is missing the beauty of the life that she once knew.

MAX

INVENTOR
WISECRACKER
STREETWISE
OPTIMISTIC
FORGOTTEN
Max is a curious scavenger boy who resides on the impoverished work-planet, Rust. Though it's the only home he's ever known, he yearns for something more. His intelligence and quick-wit fuel his mischievous nature. He is well loved by his peers but rarely taken seriously, though his positive attitude is contagious and easily lifts the spirits of those around him despite their devastating living situation.
Max has a knack and love for engineering. He can create just about anything his imagination can conjure. He spends his days scavenging the junkyards of Rust to receive his daily rations, but his nights are reserved for dreaming, inventing, and creating. Max dreams of one day leaving Rust and finding the true meaning to his existence. Though he is mocked for his desire, nothing will stand in his way to accomplish this dream.
Max's best friend is his robot sidekick, S.C.R.A.P., whom he created.
S.C.R.A.P.

LOYAL
CURIOUS
TIMID
S.C.R.A.P. is a clever data processing robot built and programmed by Max. Scrap was created with spare machinery and computer parts that were scavenged on their home planet of Rust. Though he does not use audible speech to communicate, it is very clear that S.C.R.A.P. has emotions and desires as evidenced by his animated, analog face display.
He is loyal and kind, though, at times, timid. He is a perfect complement to his fearless partner Max who has a tendency to get the two of them into a pickle. S.C.R.A.P. is always up for Max's wild adventures and will stand by him until the very end.

DODGE

LOST
Dodge is a success-driven young man who was born into the militant class system of the New World Order. He struggles to express how he feels is prone to frustrated verbal outbursts.
He was created to enforce the law of the New World, but he feels conflicted on the moral consequences of its future.
Ultimately, he feels neither understood nor accepted by his military comrades; and he will do anything to please his officials, though he wonders if he is truly meant for this destiny. His deep desire for goodness often places him at a crossroads; compliance or rebellion?
FOUR

HACKER
GAMER
RESPONSIBLE
MISUNDERSTOOD
Four is a misunderstood, yet influential gaming sensation throughout the galaxy. Created to be an entertainer with an underlying agenda to influence the galaxy's youth on the ways of the New World Order, she was equipped with two additional mechanical arms allowing her the ability to outplay any opponent.
While she is wealthy and lives a very lavish lifestyle, she can be moody, sarcastic, and rebellious.
Despite her renowned gaming career, she feels enslaved to the "system". She doesn't feel like anyone truly knows her as a person and is beginning to despise the fame and control the Order has over her life. As she's becoming angrier every day, she is beginning to wonder if she can use her influence and skillset to bring justice to this corrupt society.

Aya Fortuna spent her life dedicated to the mission of the Pagefinders, to whom she pledged her service to as a young woman. In her youth, she was a skilled fighter. Aya is intuitive and perceptive. She can sense a person's true motive and easily detect deception. Although tough, Aya is also kind and has a great sense of humor.
Now more than ever, she is determined to find, train, and encourage the new generation of Pagefinders, the only hope for humanity. Amongst these young Pagefinders, Aya has a certain fondness for a girl named Willow, from whom she senses greatness and, perhaps, a glimpse of her younger self.

LIBRARIANS

NARCISSISTIC
ELITE
CULT
The Librarians are an evil, elite political party that rose to power throughout the galaxy by deception, false enlightenment, and the weaponry of fear.
Their lust for power has led to devastating living conditions for the civilians of the galaxy as their domineering dynasty will stop at nothing to gain more ultimate influence and control.
Above all, they are servants to their evil leader and lord, Emperor Vex.
THE
ENFORCERS
ENFORCERS

The Enforcers are a militant group of skilled fighters who unquestionably carry out the orders of the Librarians. They operate on a robotic level, showing little emotion, and sparing no-one in their path.
They are trained as children to become mindless followers of their emperor. Although human, it's questionable if they're capable of choice.

THE WORLD
At the time of the FIRST LIGHT, the universe existed in its complete, created form. Untold forms of galaxies, each with uniquely designed star systems, drifted throughout the galaxy in raw, primal beauty.
Then, the FIRST KIND came out of their distant realm to explore and map the cosmos. As these mysterious beings journeyed across infinite space, they imprinted and planted on the systems they encountered. These "seeds" took root and led to lives forming throughout the universe in dramatically unique forms.
No matter how drastically different all forms of both sentient and non-sentient creatures were, they all had a common "nature", being ultimately connected at a molecular, supernatural way to the FIRST KIND and therefore, to the first instance of creation as well, known as the FIRST LIGHT.
Earth and its human inhabitants are one of many planets with similar creatures and nature. It's no surprise, when system-jumping to a planet many lightyears away, to find familiar people, plants, and animals.
Instead of every planet other than Earth being full of green, tentacled "alien creatures", most have civilized worlds made up of different races, languages, cultures, and creatures. Granted, some are quite strange, but more alike than alien.
There are plenty of worlds where the roots of the FIRST KIND led to a much different outcome, often creating treacherous systems full of danger and even brutal outcomes.
Within this space, the Pagefinders are born.
